E.L.F Cosmetics – Good and bad

Hey my lovely ladies,

I just want to say a quick thanks for all the comments and the followers! 🙂

E.L.F Cosmetics Good and Bad

So as promised this is my post on the my experience of E.L.F Cosmetics. A while ago Once upon a time I discovered E.L.F Cosmetics, can’t remember how exactly but there you go. Anyway I went on their website and saw all the amazing variety of products they had online and well… just couldn’t help myself.

Studio Bronzer – Golden –  I love a good bronzer and this one is neither  amazing nor is it bad. I found when applying that I was rubbing my brush back and forth over and over again to get some powder on the brush. Once applied it’s very sheer and well pretty but a lot of effort to apply. I did try to take a swatch but the lighting wasn’t all that good and you wouldn’t have been able to see it very well.
Final Verdict: In all the price is very affordable at £3.75. The case that it comes in is very sturdy, I’ve clumsily dropped it a few times and well it’s still alive! But I don’t think I would repurchase.
Tone Correcting Powder – Colour Cool – To be honest looking back now I don’t really know why I bought this. On their website it is said to: “Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. It absorbs excess oil, brightens, mattes and neutralises that skin” It sounds nice but does nothing of the sort. I applied it to my face but it seems to make my face super powdery. The powder just gets everywhere! Even if you are taking the smallest of amounts and well just doesn’t do anything! Looks pretty and interesting and again the case is great but a useless and worthless product inside.
Final Verdict: Waste of £3.75 and won’t repurchase.
Eyelid Primer – Champagne – Ok so this was the first time that I had heard of an eyelid primer and well at £1.50… why not. So it’s said to “Prep your eyelid for smooth, long lasting and crease proof eyeshadow” The brush is good for the eyelid. The colour champagne is pretty and sparkly. I chose that one because it was the only one in stock. So this primer is obviously very popular. I found that it did prep my eyelids very well, my eyeshadow went on smoothly and didn’t crease and stayed on all day. I don’t use eyeshadow everyday but when I do this is the first product that I reach for before application.

Final Verdict: For £1.50, you can’t really go wrong. Great product, easy to use, pretty colours and does what is says on the tin. Would definitely repurchase again.
Wet Gloss Lash & Brow Clear Mascara – Now my brows can have a mind of their own and well just look an absolute mess sometimes so a brow gel is needed on occasions to keep them tamed. Well this product I love! I only use the brow gel as I don’t really like eyelash gels. But this is a great product. Application is easy with a simply brow brush, the gel is clear, it isn’t too sticky but enough traction to keep the brows in place.Brows look shiny and conditioned with use as well!
Final Verdict: Again at £1.50, bargain! I will definitely repurchase!!!
Angled Eyeliner Brush – I am always looking for a good new eyeliner brush and this one is just amazing! Firstly it’s angled! Duuuuh! So easy to use, the bristles are smooth and I can apply eyeliner so smoothly. It’s perfect size not too thick and not too thin for a perfect application.
Final Verdict: Love this brush and at £3.75! Yet another bargain!
So these were my E.L.F buys. As you can see mixed verdicts. Have you tried any of these? What did you think of them? Any other E.L.F products that you thought were good and bad?

Real Technique – Stippling Brush Review

Hello everyone!

This is a just a quick review of a new makeup brush that I have started using lately. It’s the Real Techniques Stippling Brush by Samantha Chapman.

I came across this brush quite randomly when I was in Boots a few weeks ago and thought I’d give it a try. On the day I purchased the brush I quickly jumped online and did some research for some reviews. After reading some of the reviews I was very pleased that I bought it.

This is what the brush is advertised to do:
1. Creating an airbrushed foundation appearance.
2. Create and even and flawless look
3. ‘Look pixel-perfect even in harsh light’

Naturally after reading these points I was immediately intrigued.

The first thing that I noticed about the brush is how soft it is and also the shape of the bristles. Unlike other foundation brushes this brush is flat-topped. I’ve been using the brush for about a month now and I have washed it many times since and I’ve had no bristle breakages which is great! Also the bristles are very sturdy so its easy to apply foundation without pushing the bristles into your skin! The overall design of the brush is simple, flat based at the bottom and light weight.

The first time I used the brush it was easy to use and effortless and was incredibly flawless. I don’t the need to use as much foundation as I used to which is another plus.

Overall, I think the brush is very easy to use, does what is says leaving a flawless appearance and relatively cheap, I got it from Boots for around £10! I would definitely recommend this brush to all ladies!

Have you tried any brushes from the Real Technique Collection? What are your thoughts?

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse – Multi Usage Dry Oil

Hey Ladies,

                                                                 Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse!

I came across this product when I was browsing the net as usual for a dry oil for my hair and I stumbled across this little beauty. Now first of all this is a MULTI- USAGE dry oil for face, body and hair which is just perfect so of course impulsively I bought it! Its key ingredients are borage, St John’s wort, sweet almond, camellia, hazelnut and macadamia to nourish, repair and moisturise for all skin types.

My Review

The bottle in my opinion is just beautifully elegant and just looks lovely on my dressing table. I’ve seen a fair few people mention that its difficult to apply as it doesn’t have a spray, it has a small plastic thing on the top that dispenses a few a drops out at a time (I don’t what you call it!) but you don’t really need a great deal. A little really does a long way.

Onto the smell.. I LOVE the smell of this oil. Its hard to explain, kinda summery but it is simply divine!

When I first applied it, it went on so smoothly and a few drops was all i needed. It doesn’t leave an oil residue (DRY OIL DUUUUUUUUUUHH) so it’s quick to apply and you can just get on with the day.

I also tried it in my hair on the ends and I love it. It makes your hair smooth, gets rid of fly aways and of course you smell AWESOME!

Now price…it is expensive but it will last ages so I think its worth it and once I run out I will definitely purchase again.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Gold Shimmer Oil

You can also get the dry oil in Gold Shimmer which I now want!! 🙂

Dermalogica – Gentle Cream Exfoliant

So ladies, I want to share with one of my favourite products that I simply don’t think I could ever live without!

It is called Gentle cream exfoliant by Dermalogica. I first heard of this product from Lisa Eldridge who recommended it on one of her posts ‘Favourite skincare products – part 1‘. When Lisa said that it changed her life I was skeptical… after all how often do you come across products like that! Anyway I just had to give it a go.

I bought my gentle cream exfoliant from Beauty Flash for £31.99. It is pricey however a little goes a long way and well its just worth all the money.

My Review

The idea of this product is to apply as you would a face-mask. Its’ key ingredients are Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid which remove the dead skin cells and clears follicles. When this product says that it’s gentle, believe me it’s gentle! My skin doesn’t feel aggravated, isn’t red or blotchy like it would after using other exfoliants. My skin is flawlessly smooth and brighter! LOVE IT!!

I use this exfoliant once a week without fail! I strongly urge you to buy a sample or splurge and buy this product and let me know your experiences!!

Hot Yoga

Hey everyone!

So my late obsession has been with Hot yoga which I have taken up recently. Having done some prior research before joining hot yoga found that it has become a growing trend amongst celebrities for a while, for example George Clooney, Jennifer Anniston and Madonna are said to be huge fans so I just had to give it a go!!

What is hot yoga?

Hot yoga or Bikram Yoga which is the correct name is an intense form of yoga that is performed in well… a HOT room which is heated up about 40 degrees celsius. The class consists of a series of 26 poses in a 90 minute session which can get you working up quite a sweat!

What are the benefits of hot yoga?

The benefits of hot yoga are:

  • Weight Loss – Some of poses in hot yoga aid in helping your digestive system and improve your metabolizing. Also it encourages you to eat healthily by reducing your unhealthy cravings. Also the intense heat flushes out all the toxins from your body and allow to burn up to 1000 calories a session! – AMAZING!
  • Clear skin – The sweating allows your pores to open and get cleaned which in time will reduce break outs and create a fresh glow in your skin.
  • Stress – Hot yoga helps in dealing with physical and mental stress by connecting with your body and breathing in time with the poses to calm and let go of the mind and tension.
  • Strength – Over time it will help you build strength in parts of your body that you wouldn’t normally work out. Although it is low impact you can feel later that the muscles that you probably didn’t you had have been worked out!
  • Cardio – I find from personal experience that the whole session my heart is racing and have had a good work out during a lot of the balancing poses and I didn’t even to have to leave my mat!
  • Better sleep – Before I used to suffer for a minor form of insomnia however since I’ve started hot yoga it has dramatically improved therefore improving my everyday life!
  • Back Pain – Everyone suffers from one form of back pain to another – I for example suffered from lower back pain however since starting yoga I have had zero lower back pain which feels absolutely amazing!
I am sure there are countless more benefits of hot yoga but these are the ones I can vouch for.
Would I recommend trying hot yoga?
HELL YEAAAAH! Do it and you will be hooked. That I can promise.
If any you have tried, want to try or have any questions then please let me know!
