The Body Shop – Body Butters

Ok yes another Body Shop rave but seriously I honestly can’t fault their products!

I love walking into Body shop and be hit in the face with all the fruity fresh scented products. Some may find it overpowering but me…I’m drawn into the shop simply by walking past and getting a good waft!

The Body Shop Body Butter

So I first started using The Body Shop Body Butters when I was 13 or 14 years old. I remember walking into the shop and seeing rows and rows of different fruit body butters and I tried and sniffed each one and these are my all-time favourite and the ones I continuously go back for.

1. Coconut. – I’m a sucker for any kind of coconut scented product and I love the smell of this body butter. Not only does it smell awesome it’s a great moisturiser! This is my fourth tub! I absolutely love it!  I tend to reach for this in the summer when my skin is less dry as I usually require heavy moisturising creams in the winter.

2. Coconut Shimmer Body Butter – There’s also a coconut shimmer body butter version which is nice to use if you going out in the evening and bearing a lot of skin – gives a beautiful shimmer as well as the moisturising benefits. I haven’t really used this one a great deal to be honest.

3.  Passion Fruit – This was the first one that I used,I love Passion fruit so when caught a whiff of this my purse was out of by bag and ready. It’s so fruity! I can’t seem to get this in store anymore and when I went in and asked them if they’ve stopped it they said it’s a seasonal special and I could probably get it online. So I went home and ordered a tub online!

4. Vitamin E – Everyone knows Vitamin E is incredibly amazing for your skin and at the time when I bought this I was suffering from excessively dry skin and I found that after slapping this beautiful stuff on my skin twice a day my skin felt amazing and all the dry skin cleared up. This is a miracle worker for the winter months.

I think the cost of these body butters at £13.00 is reasonable and given that it’s a Body Shop product which tends to be generally expensive. I tend to get them when they’re on offer and Body Shop always have offers on their body butters so I just stock up then!

Overall, great products, smells amazing, they moisturise really well and you really need a lot, a tub will last a good few months.

Have you tried these body butters? Which one is your favourite?

NOTD| Revlon Eclectic

Hey Ladies,

Just a quick post on my new Revlon nail varnish that I’ve had my eye on for quite some time which I picked up in town today! I’m really loving minty green colours at the moment, so when I saw this colour I knew I wanted it straight away!

Revlon Eclectic

I really love this colour, its bright and stands out without clashing again my skin tone! Initially the colour  on the fist coat was quite light so for better opacity you will require 2 to 3 coats. I found it quite hard to use on the 2nd and 3rd coat and it got quite streaky but to be honest I love the colour so I’m willing to deal with that!

I really like Revlon Nail Varnishes, there’s a great variety and they’re quite affordable.I picked mine up for £4.49 from £6.49 which is reasonable.

Let me know what you think of the colour! Any other minty green nail varnish recommendations?

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream

I’m a huge fan of Body Shop products so naturally when I saw The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream I just had to try it. After my sister told me that she used this BB Cream and  said that it was nice, I just went for it.

This BB Cream claims to ‘Adapt to skin tone, Light to Medium coverage, even finish, 24 hour hydration and Non-clogging’

The BB Cream comes in three different shades 01 Lighter Skin Tones, 02 Medium Skin Tones and 03 Darker Skin Tones. I have 03 Darker Skin Tones.

The Bodyshop BB Cream

Initially the cream is white, not what you expect when first using it but as claimed it does colour adapt and as you can see from the swatches that as you rub it in the cream adapts to you skin tone.  When I used it on my face it really did colour adapt to my skin tone. I was amazed. It was a perfect match.

The coverage is good but if you have a few blemishes you will probably need to conceal as well. This BB cream would be better suited for those that barely need coverage or a ‘good skin’ day. As you can see from the swatch the finish is very dewy and gives a lovely glow.

I found this BB Cream to be extremely moisturizing; I have oily/combination skin so throughout the day my skin became incredibly oily and almost slippery to the touch. It wasn’t a nice feeling at all. To be honest I only used this BB cream for two days and on the last day of using it, I just found it far too hydrating for my combination skin and through it to the bottom of makeup bag.

This BB Cream costs a whopping £12 for 25ml – I thought this was way too much for a ‘Tinted Cream’. However for a Body Shop product I guess it was expected.

I really wanted to love this BB Cream, the colour and the coverage I found was very satisfactory for a ‘BB Cream’ but it wasn’t meant to be. I think it would be better suited for ladies with dry skin. I may give it a whirl again in the winter months when my skin gets dry from the bitter cold.

Have you tried Body Shop’s BB Cream? Or the Vitamin E Cool BB Cream?

Sleek Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette

Hey ladies,

Recently this Sleek eye shadow palette – Au Naturel has become an everyday favourite of mine, here’s a quick review and swatches of the palette!

Sleek Au Naturel Palette

Urban Decay - Naked 2

This palette is great for an everyday natural look or a beautiful smokey eye look for a night out! I’d say this palette is a great dupe for Urban Decays Naked 2 Palette, the colours are quite similar and it’s a cheaper alternative, great for those on a budget.

Sleek Au Naturel Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

The top six shades are very neutral toned, when I use them everyday I have go back and reapply a few times to see any real colour (this is probably down to my skin tone though) and the shades pick up really well on my Real Techniques shadow brush.

The bottom six have really earthy tones, kind of reminds me of Autumn colours, these are really great for creating natural smoky eyes or the shades are buildable to create a dramatic look. The pigmentation of the bottom colours are excellent, a little goes a long way!

The texture of the shadows are a cream to powdery, when I use my fingers it feels really silky and smooth. They lift very well onto the brush and it glides and blends effortlessly but I found that the shimmery eyeshadows don’t really lift well or blend very easily. It takes me a lot longer to create the desired look and I really have work to get any product on to the brush.

Available at Superdrug.com for £7.99

Overall it’s a great palette, colours are lovely and neutral and for £7.99 it’s a great price! Looking forward to trying the other eyeshow palettes now!

Have you tried this palette or any of the other eyeshadow palettes?

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to follow me!

Top Exfoliating Masks/Treatments Wishlist

Hello Ladies,

So recently my Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant mask (reviewed here) is nearly all gone! I’ve loved using the product and I was going to buy another one but there are so many different exfoliating masks/treatments on the market I figured I might try a new one. So here’s a list of all the ones I’ve read about that I want to try.

Exfoliator Masks

Exfoliator Masks

1. Alpha H Liquid Gold

A multi action formula enriched with silk proteins, licorice extract and Glycolic acid. It works to jump-start the skin’s metabolism, tightening enlarged pores and giving a brighter, clearer complexion.

  • This is my dream product, I really want to try this and having done a fair bit of research I’ve read nothing but amazing reviews for this product!

2. Ren Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask

‘A combination of fruit acids complex and papain enzyme from the papaya fruit, that gives a gentle yet effective exfoliating peel. If you have congested, mature, post acne scarring or blemished skin this will  leave your skin in optimum health’

  • So my skin has recently been recovering from a horrible bout of acne and I’ve been left with a few scars which have been fading away thanks to my Manuka honey, cinnamon and nutmeg facemask but I still feel like a mask like this will really make the process a lot quicker and give it a healthy glow that it needs.

Available on lookfantastic.com at £27.00

3. Pixi Glow Tonic

So this product has recently become quite popular in the beauty blogosphere and after reading excellent reviews it has quickly become one of the top products on my beauty list. It is described as a dupe for P50 but a cheaper version. It works to tone, firm and tighten skin whilst exfoliating dead skin cells away with Glycolic acid.

  • It’s not available online but there is a store in Fouberts Place, London and there is a number you can call to order over the phone.

Telephone: 020-7287-7211  £16.00

4. Liz Earle Brightening Treatment Mask

‘This is a fast-acting mask which aims to revitalize dull skin.It contains camphor oil and which hazel to help give your skin a natural-looking radiance’

  • I love that this product requires you to leave the mask on for 30 seconds which results in an instant radiant glow. Great for when you are short on time but need a quick skin boost!

Available on Lizearle.com at £14.00 for 50ml pump

5. Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel

Contains Papaya and Pineapple fruit enzyme action which will smooth, brighten and clarify your complexion. The formula is non-granular, gentle and works by dissolving dead skins cells without rubbing.

  • I’m not usually keen on fruity smelling masks only because I don’t really feel like they’re doing much but this has the fruity smelling aspect, gently exfoliates and dissolves dead skin cells away which is great.

Available on lookfantastic.com at £29.50

6. Oskia Renaissance Mask

Contains natural fruit acids (AHA’s) including passion fruit, grape and pineapple fruit acids which work to gently exfoliate the epidermis and decongested pores. Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving the skin soft, toned and smooth. Not to mention the beautiful rose scent!

  • This just sounds amazing, I love the scent of roses so this is just a dreamy relaxing mask for me!

Available on lookfantastic.com at £48.50

7. Dr Manuka Bee Venom Mask

With purified bee venom and UMF this mask is a deep penetrating skin renewal treatment that nurtures, regenerates & assists with the renewal of damaged skin cells.

  • I really love Manuka honey so this product is just perfect for me!

Available on HollandandBarrett.com  at £49.99

8.Glam Glow Mud Mask

A 10 minute mask aims to give you a ‘Noticeable 3 day glow from skin collagen synthesis, diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, leaves skin smooth and soft and multi level resurfacing exfoliation and even out skin tone’

  • Again a quick 10 minute mask, great for when you’re in a rush. I’ve read great reviews about this mask as well!

Have you tried any these masks/treatments? Any recommendations?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Revlon Just Bitten

I’ve been meaning to do a post on Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains for a while now and I’ve finally got around to it!

‘It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of colour that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood’

So there are 12 shades available, I only have the three above which are Honey/Douce, Lovesick/Passionnee and Crush/Beguin.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable - Honey/Douce

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable - Lovesick/Passionnee

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable - Crush/Beguin

My camera hasn’t really done the colours any justice, they actually appear a lot brighter and vibrant then what these pictures are showing.

Lovesick/Passionnee is my favourite at the moment. I love how bright it is!

I really like the look of the stick, it’s quick and easy to use with no mess and you can throw it in your handbag without worrying about it getting damaged/ruined etc.

Revlon market the product be moisturizing, in the first instance of using these balm stains I can vouch they are moisturizing however as the day goes by I can feel my lips drying out and almost a little uncomfortable. I either reapply the balm (which there is no need for) or apply vaseline just to moisturize my lips again.

The pigmentation of these balms are fantastic, you can apply very little for a subtle colour or can build it up to a much brighter look.

The longevity again is just spot on, apart from the moisturizing aspect of the product I can’t really fault it. I found that it lasted about 10 hours and it was only in the last hour that I noticed it started to fade away. The term ‘Lipstain’ that Revlon use to describe the product again is exactly what it does. I took the product off at the end of the day and I could see that there was some colour left on my lips even after using makeup remover.

So overall, great product, colours are bright and pigmented and have excellent staying power but the moisturizing aspect doesn’t really hold up for me. I still love the product, I love the colours and I just fix up my lips with some vaseline or top up with the balm! I highly recommend these balms based on the vibrant colours and staying power!

How you tried Revlon Kissable Balms? What are your thoughts?

Revlon Nails – Enchanting

Revlon Nail Enamel – 220 Enchanting

Just a quick post on my nails that I did this weekend. I’m really loving lilacs at the moment so I saw this in Boots and just couldn’t resist. I’ve been using it for a while and it’s my favourite colour at the moment, nearly finished though so will need to get another one!

The consistency is perfect, not to thick or too thin. Only really need two coats! I’ve never tried Revlon nail varnishes before but I definitely like this one! Would definitely recommend!
